About me

I have always had a passion for art and poetry but didn't really put the two together until I wrote my first children's picture book, Knobbly Nora in 2020.

Nora is a bit of a tomboy - as was I!  Growing up in the heart of Cumbria surrounded by fields and woods I would often be out playing for hours climbing trees, returning home with scuffed shoes and dirty knees.

My working life has included a multitude of jobs from packing pies to pulling pints, then in 2001 I gained a degree in Interior Architecture & Design and worked as a Designer ever since, squeezing in a bit of doodling and rhyming on the side.

I now live in the North East of England with my husband and family and am lucky enough to be able to devote more time to my passions. I have written, illustrated and published four children's picture books to date with hopefully more to follow!

When I am not writing or illustrating I still like to take walks in the woods and occasionally still climb the odd tree :-)
